CMT Code of Conduct
Code of conduct rules were established by CMT Code of Conduct Committee voted on by the CMT Board of Directors. The Code of Conduct will be shared/complied to by staff, volunteers, youth, and parents of members, chaperones and anyone participating in Chazy Music Theatre events. The Code will establish a clear understanding of expectations among the individuals involved. Procedures for managing expectations, discipline, and consequences of inappropriate behavior are also outlined in this Code of Conduct. Any production staff, adult-in-charge or chaperone will enforce this Code at all times.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous respectful manner exhibit good temperance and always be a positive role model in their representation of CMT. Respect/adhere to and enforce the rules policies and guidelines set forth by CMT.
Expected Behavior:
All participants are expected to be responsive and respectful to the requests of the adult in charge. Such instructions are expected to be followed the first time given.
All participants are expected to participate in all of the planned practices, to be on time and follow through on assigned tasks/responsibilities in a manner that ensures the respect, safety, well being and quality of the experience for self and others.
Everyone must remain in the auditorium at all times unless otherwise assigned by Director, Production staff or delegate. There will be designated break times for everyone.
NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM AT ANY TIME.
During the breaks participants must remain in the designated area between the cafeteria and the gym hallway.
All participants must conduct themselves in the auditorium during rehearsals and shows in a quiet/tranquil manner at all times in an attempt to not disturb the stage performances.
All participants will act in a mature, responsible manner, whether an adult or youth, recognizing they are role models and representatives for CMT.
All participants will be dressed appropriately. While having no formal dress code all participants must come dressed prepared for rehearsal or performance. Footwear must be worn on stage at all times.
All participants will respect the costume(s) given. Under no circumstances are participants allowed to go outside of school dressed in their costume. Once participant is provided a costume(s) they are responsible for the care and placement of their costume throughout the duration of the performance. (Example: Label costume, hang costume properly after every use. Nothing is to remain in band room on bathroom floors after use).
No costumes are to leave the premises unless permission is given from the Costume Manager.
All participants will respect the diversity, rights and opinions of others, realizing that their customs may be different.
All participants are prohibited from the possession and/or use of illegal drugs, alcoholic beverages of any kind while participating in events. CCRS is a tobacco free zone therefore no smoking is allowed on school grounds.
All participants are to refrain from romantic displays, sexual activities, and sexual harassment either in public or private situations during performances/rehearsals. These actions will not be tolerated.
Any property of CMT or CCRS should be treated with respect. Use of CCRS auditorium and band room should be considered a privilege.

b. Costumes
c. Sound equipment
d. Sets
e. Staging
f. Musical instruments in band room – never to be touched
Participants are not allowed to invite guest to rehearsals/shows. Only participants are allowed on school grounds during rehearsals/shows.
Procedures For Sharing and Managing Expected Behavior:
The Director and CMT Board Member/s will conduct an Informational meeting. They will review the Code of Conduct with all participants. Youth participants must have a parent or guardian in attendance at this meeting.
CMT will have an adult in charge at all rehearsals. Director, Assistant Director, Production Staff will be in charge at each rehearsal/show.
Violation & Consequences:
If violation occurs at any event the participant may suffer a loss of being included in the event.
The participant may be sent home, followed by a review board consisting of the individual, the CMT Board, production staff and the individual’s parent/guardian. If dismissal is decided the participation fee will not be refunded.
Financial Commitment:
An initial participation fee of $25.00 per person and $50.00 per family will be expected. When you come to the first rehearsal you must pay this participation fee. This amount is payable to CMT. If the fee is not paid you will not get a script, music, or costume.
No refunds will be given if the participant cancels their involvement after the first 30 days. ( by January 31 of current year)
There will be accessories that you may be required to purchase at your cost (i.e.: shoes, hosiery, special pieces, etc). These items will be above the cost of your participation fee. The costume manager will try to get these items listed for you as soon as possible.
All participants will sign The Code of Conduct. All participants still attending school will sign and their parent/guardian will sign also. Your signature will indicate that you have read, understand and will abide by the CMT Code of Conduct.
